"The Spiritual Legacy of Shawwal: Fasting for Continued Devotion and Reward"?

Image
Significance of Fasting Six Days in Shawwal Fasting six days in Shawwal, immediately following the blessed month of Ramadan, holds immense significance in Islam. While it is commonly understood as a way to extend the rewards of Ramadan, its deeper meaning transcends mere ritual.  This act is an opportunity for Muslims to strengthen their connection with Allah, increase their spiritual discipline, and maintain the momentum of the positive habits developed during Ramadan. By understanding the deeper implications of fasting in Shawwal, Muslims can cultivate lifelong habits of self-restraint, mindfulness, and gratitude. Theological Significance of Fasting Six Days in Shawwal Fasting in Shawwal carries great theological importance, particularly as it relates to the mercy and generosity of Allah. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) emphasized the virtue of fasting six days after Ramadan, stating: “Whoever fasts during the month of Ramadan and then follows it with six days of Shawwal, ...

* Sacred Celebration of Worship, Gratitude, and Social Responsibility*

Image
The True Meaning of Eid: A Celebration of Worship Eid al-Fitr is often perceived as a time of festivity, social gatherings, and feasting. Across various cultures, Muslims observe Eid with unique traditions, such as preparing special foods, wearing new attire, and engaging in communal prayers, yet the underlying essence of worship and gratitude remains universal. While these aspects contribute to the celebratory nature of the occasion, the true essence of Eid transcends material joy.  Rooted in the Islamic principles of obedience, gratitude, and spiritual fulfilment, Eid is ultimately a reward from Allah for a month of dedicated worship during Ramadan. This paper explores the theological, historical, and spiritual dimensions of Eid al-Fitr, arguing that its significance lies not merely in external celebrations but in its role as a culmination of devotion and a recommitment to faith. Introduction Eid al-Fitr, often referred to as the “Festival of Breaking the Fast,” marks t...

"The Qur'an and the Bible: Distinct Revelations and Preservation"

Image
How the Qur'an Differs From the Bible It is a common allegation by some Christians that the Qur'an is a mere copy of the Bible, claiming that Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) plagiarized "his" book from the pages of the Bible. While it is true that the Qur'an was revealed after the Bible came into existence and that both the Qur'an and the Bible share some common ground, the conclusion that Prophet Muhammad simply copied the Bible is both historically and logically untenable. Below are several reasons why this claim is unfounded. Arabic Bible and Lack of Translations First, it is essential to note that during the time of Prophet Muhammad, no Arabic translations of the Bible existed. Ernst Würthwein informs us in his book, The Text of the Old Testament , that: "With the victory of Islam, the use of Arabic spread widely, and for Jews and Christians in the conquered lands, it became the language of daily life. This gave rise to the ne...

Lesson from the History !!🪶

💎 The Story of the Chaste Abu Bakr Al-Miski   ✍ One of the most remarkable stories of chastity ☝ It was said to Abu Bakr Al-Miski – who was a handsome young man with good manners – "We always smell the scent of musk from you. What is the reason?" Al-Miski replied: "By Allah, for many years, I have not touched musk. But the reason is that once, a beautiful woman deceived me into entering her house. She locked the doors behind me and seduced me, threatening that if I refused her, she would accuse me of theft or attempted assault! I was bewildered and had no way out. So, I said to her, ‘May I cleanse myself and take a bath so that I may be worthy of you?’ She ordered a servant girl to take me to the bathhouse. Once inside, I took some filth (excrement) and smeared it all over my body. Then, I walked out in that state. When the woman saw me, she was utterly shocked, disgusted, and horrified. She immediately ordered my expulsion from her house! So, I left and wal...

Signs of True Knowledge Seekers🖊️

Image
The Commander of the Believers, radyAllaahu ‘anhu, has described this category from the carriers of  knowledge with certain attributes:  From them is that: “Through them, the knowledge is fortified upon the reality of evidence.”  The meaning of this is that the knowledge directs them to the highest of goals and this is the awareness of  Allah.  Thus, they fear Him and love Him to the point that everything that is difficult upon others  becomes easy upon them.  So they do not look for a way towards that which others seek a way towards, from those who stop with  this worldly life, its attractions and its pleasures.  And from those who have pride in that and do not  spread the knowledge, exaltation and honouring of Allah in their hearts.  Rather, they are the ones who  turn towards that which the self-sufficient ones have abandoned.  Verily, the self-sufficient one, who has fallen and given into the desires of the world and i...

**"The Divine Arrangement: Understanding the Compilation and Structure of the Qur'an"**

Image
The Compilation of the Qur'an: Order of Revelation and the Division into 30 Juz The Qur’an is the final revelation from Allah, revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) over a period of 23 years.  Unlike previous scriptures, which were revealed all at once or in larger portions, the Qur’an was sent down gradually to address specific circumstances, provide guidance over time, and strengthen the hearts of believers.  However, it was not compiled in the exact chronological order of revelation. Instead, it was arranged according to divine instruction.  Additionally, the division of the Qur’an into 30 parts (juz) was not from the time of revelation but a later development to facilitate ease of recitation and memorization. This essay explores these aspects based on the understanding of the Salaf (pious predecessors), with references from classical Islamic scholars. The Order of Revelation vs. The Order of Compilation 1. The Gradual Revelation ...

(126) [Allah] will say, 'Thus did Our signs come to you, and you forgot them; and thus, will you this Day be forgotten.' (127) And thus, do We recompense he who transgressed and did not believe in the signs of his Lord. The Virtue of Remaining on the Prayer Mat After Fajr Until Ishraq

Image
Islam encourages believers to dedicate their time to acts of worship that bring them closer to Allah. Among the most rewarding yet often neglected acts of worship are remaining seated in the place of prayer after Fajr, engaging in dhikr (remembrance of Allah), recitation of the Qur’an, and du‘a until the sun rises, then performing the two rak‘ahs of Ishraq. This practice carries immense rewards, as evidenced by numerous authentic hadiths and the practices of the righteous predecessors. However, many people overlook this act due to modern distractions, busy lifestyles, and a lack of awareness about its immense virtues. The Virtue of Remaining in Worship After Fajr The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) emphasized the importance of remaining in remembrance of Allah after Fajr. He said: “Whoever prays Fajr in congregation and then sits remembering Allah until the sun rises, then prays two rak‘ahs, will have a reward like that of Hajj and Umrah – complete, complete,...

The Reality of Dunya !

Image
Translation: "Know that the life of this world is only play and amusement, pomp and mutual boasting among you, and competition in wealth and children. It is like the example of a rain whose growth pleases the disbelievers; then it dries up, and you see it turn yellow; then it becomes scattered debris. And in the Hereafter, there is severe punishment and forgiveness from Allah and His pleasure. And what is the life of this world except the enjoyment of delusion?" (Surah Al-Hadid 57:20) In this verse, Allah beautifully describes the dunya as an illusion—something that seems grand and fulfilling but ultimately fades away like withering crops. He warns us that attachment to worldly pursuits can lead to heedlessness, yet He also reminds us t...

The Treaty of Hudaybiyyah: A Turning Point in Islamic History

The Prophet’s Dream and the Journey Toward Makkah In the sixth year after Hijrah (628 CE), the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) had a divinely inspired dream that he and his companions were entering Makkah peacefully, performing Umrah, shaving their heads, and shortening their hair. Since the dreams of Prophets are revelations from Allah, the Prophet (ﷺ) took it as a command to set out for Umrah. Preparation for the Journey The Prophet (ﷺ) announced the Umrah journey publicly. About 1,400 to 1,500 companions joined him. They dressed in Ihram, clearly showing they came as peaceful pilgrims, not warriors. The Prophet (ﷺ) took sacrificial animals (Hadi) to further emphasize their peaceful intentions. This moment was filled with hope and anticipation. After six years of exile, the Muslims were finally going to return to the Sacred House of Allah. The Quraysh’s Hostility and the Prophet’s Tactical Route Change When the Quraysh heard that the Muslims were approaching Makkah, they panicked and saw ...
