In what ways Allah Calls You Back and Will You Answer Before It’s Too Late?
1. Soft Reminders – The Gentle Call
Allah (SWT) calls us through blessings, knowledge, and moments of reflection. He places people, experiences, and signs in our lives to remind us of the truth.
Evidence:
“And Allah invites to the Home of Peace and guides whom He wills to a straight path.” (Surah Yunus 10:25)
“We will show them Our signs in the horizons and within themselves until it becomes clear to them that it is the truth.” (Surah Fussilat 41:53)
Example: A powerful khutbah, a kind word from a friend, or a moment of gratitude may serve as a wake-up call to reconnect with Allah.
Will you recognize His call through ease before hardship comes?
2. Hardships and Trials – A Reminder Through Struggle
When gentle reminders are ignored, Allah (SWT) may call us through difficulties—illness, financial loss, heartbreak—to bring us back in humility.
Evidence:
“And We will surely let them taste the nearer punishment short of the greater punishment that perhaps they will return [to righteousness].” (Surah As-Sajdah 32:21)
“And We certainly sent messengers to nations before you; then We seized them with poverty and hardship that perhaps they might humble themselves.” (Surah Al-An‘am 6:42)
Example: A person facing a crisis realises their need for Allah and turns to Him in desperation.
Why wait for hardship to turn back? Seek Him now, in both ease and difficulty.
3. A Major Wake-Up Call – When Life Flashes Before Your Eyes
For those still heedless, Allah (SWT) may send a life-altering event—a near-death experience, a tragic loss, or a severe illness—forcing them to confront their mortality.
Evidence:
“When affliction befalls a man, he calls upon Us, whether lying on his side, sitting, or standing. But when We remove his affliction, he continues as if he had never called upon Us for relief from the affliction that touched him.” (Surah Yunus 10:12)
“And return to your Lord and submit to Him before the punishment comes upon you; then you will not be helped.” (Surah Az-Zumar 39:54)
Example: Someone who survives a deadly accident suddenly reevaluates their purpose in life.
If you got a second chance, what would you do differently? Why not start now?
4. The Final Call – When Time Runs Out
The ultimate and unavoidable call is death. At this point, there are no second chances.
Evidence:
“Until, when death comes to one of them, he says, ‘My Lord, send me back that I might do righteousness in that which I left behind.’ No! It is only a word he is saying, and behind them is a barrier until the day they are resurrected.” (Surah Al-Mu’minun 23:99-100)
The Prophet ï·º said, “Allah accepts the repentance of a servant so long as his soul does not reach his throat.” (Tirmidhi, 3537 – Hasan)
Example: Fir‘awn (Pharaoh) tried to repent at the moment of death, but it was too late.
You still have time—how will you use it?
Final Reflection
Allah (SWT) continuously calls us back to Him. The question is, will we respond before it’s too late?
The Prophet ï·º said:
"Take advantage of five before five: your youth before your old age, your health before your sickness, your wealth before your poverty, your free time before your busyness, and your life before your death." (Tirmidhi)
No matter where you are in life, today is the best day to return to Allah. Don't wait for the final call.
May Allah allow us to return to Him with pure hearts before our time runs out, Ameen.
